And so, Rhys' Big Epic Storyline has finally come to a conclusion. Abaddon is dead, the Gates of Hell have been closed, and the conflict between Heaven and Hell are over.

I would be extremely remiss if I did not thank all the players whose characters have touched Rhys' life and without whom there would have been no story. I am truly grateful for each and every one of you, no matter how small or large a part you may have played, and I apologize if I forget anyone. Four years is a long time, and my memory is not the best.

Thanks first to Riley for being there when the character was first conceived and for the first part of the journey. Rhys would more than likely not exist without Riley. Even though they are no longer a couple, their part of the story established the foundation for the character and the eventual continuation of his part of the story.

Thanks also to the players of Lizzie, Aurelia, Kellie, Luke, Lelah, and Katt for their contributions and input to the story. Every character Rhys has met along the way has had an impact of one kind or another on his life, no matter how big or small. I have enjoyed playing with all of you.

And last but certainly not least, many thanks to Nat's player for joining me on the final leg of the voyage and without whose help, the character of Rhys would probably have faded into the sunset long ago. It's been an honor and a privilege, and I am looking forward to many more adventures in the future.

I knew almost from the beginning how I wanted the story to end, but it's been a long time coming. This has been a labor of love for over four years. What started out as a minor character created to serve a purpose in another character's story soon took on a life of his own and quickly became one of my all-time favorite characters to play and write for, but I could not have done it or enjoyed it so immensely without the help of all of you, and for that I am extremely grateful.

As Paul McCartney wrote, it's been a long and winding road, but the journey isn't over yet. There are still a lot of stories I want to tell and things I want to do. Rhys isn't done talking to me yet, so stay tuned for more.

As always, thank you to everyone who's been reading thus far. I hope you have enjoyed reading the story as much as we've enjoyed telling it.

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond to this. Been busy with "real life" and all that. Thank you for the inspiration to create him at all. It's been a wild ride. His story isn't over yet, though. He's still poking at me to tell more.  :smile:

Now that Rhys' quest to kill Hell's Triad and seal the Gates of Hell is over, it's probably time for an update. There are quite a few characters, both PCs and NPCs, who've been part of the story, but I'm only going to update the ones who were primarily created and played by me.

Dylan Donovan - Rhys' foster father. Dylan took Rhys in after his parents were killed by demons, raised him as his own, and taught him how to hunt. He was killed by vampires when Rhys was a teenager.

David Sparrowhawk - David was Dylan's best friend and another mentor of Rhys'. He was also a Native American Shaman. He was killed by demons at his home in Flagstaff a few years ago. Rhys arrived too late to save him.

Adam Sparrowhawk - David's nephew and Rhys' best friend. They met when Rhys was a boy and became like brothers. He is now an agent with a special branch of the FBI and married to Gina.

Jessie - Rhys' first love. She was killed as a teenager after being possessed by a demon, who then threw herself over a bridge. She died of drowning.

Nikki - Nikki was a supernatural being. She was the last remaining of the Three Fates on Earth. She went by the name Nicole Moirae and lived in Denver. She was in actuality Klotho, the Spinner. Michael and Lilith made a bargain to get rid of her, and thinking she was no longer needed, she left the Earthly realm to join her sisters elsewhere. Her whereabouts are currently unknown.

Cara - An ex-lover of Rhys', who he wanted to marry, but who broke up with him when he revealed the truth about himself and his past. She is still alive and living somewhere on Earth.

Lailah - Rhys' guardian angel, who has been watching over and protecting him since he was born.

Rathanael - Rhys' angelic name. He is in actuality an incarnated angel. After finishing his quest with the demons, he was rewarded by being given a mortal soul; however, he still retains some of his angelic characteristics.

I don't do this very often, but I just want to post a little praise for my writing partner, without whom I probably would have stopped doing this a long time ago. Of all our various stories and characters, I think Rhys and Nat are probably my favorites. This latest story, which ties up some of the loose ends of Rhys' past, has been an awesome journey, and I cannot thank my partner enough. It's been about two years since we became partners, and I am still loving every minute of it. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you to Nat's Player for being an awesome writer, partner, co-conspirator, and most importantly, friend. Love ya!  :grin:

Thanks, Fiona! Rhys is probably my longest-running, active character at DM. I've tried to put him to rest a few times, but he wouldn't cooperate. There's still a lot we want to do with this bunch of characters, so the story isn't over yet! Thanks so much for reading! And this post makes 301.

The following is an updated list of the various characters whose stories are told in this folder. We will add future characters to this list as they crop up.


The following group is primarily involved with Avalon and the supernatural:

Rhys & Natalya Bristol - The Champion and Priestess of Avalon and the lead characters in the story. Rhys & Nat travel between Earth and Avalon.

Adam & Gina Sparrowhawk - Rhys & Nat's closest friends. Adam is a Federal Agent, and Gina is a lawyer. Gina has a son, Joey, from a previous relationship. They make their home in Brooklyn.

Rachel Bristol & Zachariel - Rachel is Rhys' long lost sister, and Zach is a fallen angel. They make their home in Avalon, and have a son named Tristan. Zach is also the official Archivist of Avalon.

Ian & Aurelia Evans - Aurelia is a witch and old friend of Rhys'; Ian is a college professor with a specialty in Arthurian legend and the Loremaster of Avalon. They live in Brooklyn and have a daughter, Morgan Viviane.

Duncan Devereux & Amaris Shaw - Dev is an FBI agent who works with Adam, and Amaris is a Lycan, her pack's Alpha, and a Guardian of Avalon.

This group is made up of vampires and their allies. They live in the same universe as the group above, and their stories intersect somewhat.

Nick & Willow Gregory - A private investigator and his wife, who have recently become vampires and subsequently gave birth to a dhampir daughter. Nick turned Willow to save her from dying while birthing their daughter.

Julian & Annabelle Stafford - Star-crossed lovers who are also vampires and allies of Nick and Willow. Julian is also Annabelle's sire.

Valerian & Laurentia VanArkle - Another pair of allies in the vampire story. Valerian is a vampire, and Laurentia is a dhampir.

William Hawthorn & Sanada Sakura - A pair of old vampires who are also acquainted with Julian and Annabelle.
