What Are Playables?

What Are Playables?

The Playables folder is not a normal story folder and should not be treated as one. If you are new to Playables, please read this entire post before posting.

Playables are 'public information', something one might notice as they wander around town, or hear from a friend who heard it from a friend who.. etc.. Things that could be considered to have happened "behind closed doors" or things that would not normally be public information are not "playables", because there is no way for others to know about them without blending.

A playable should also not take more than a paragraph or two to post. Think of it like the difference between a 20-30 second news story on your local news versus a 20-30 minute in-depth report on 20-20.

The in-depth stuff should be saved for the story folders, either in Dragon's Tales or your own folders. It's easy enough to link to your folder from the posting, just paste the link in to your posting, highlight it and click the URL button. This helps keep the link from getting broken up.

Please keep this in mind when posting in the Playables.

Important things to know about Playables

1. You can post IC or OOC information here about YOUR character and/or YOUR storylines. Do not post information about other player's played characters, their creations, or storylines WITHOUT their permission. Posts that contain information about played characters, their creations, or storylines other than your own are subject to removal, and then deletion within 10 days from the Playables folder without notice.

2. Do not use playables to mock or make fun of other players or story lines. They will be removed without notice.

3. Please begin your posts with IC information instead of OOC information in parentheses as the beginning of your posts will show up on the front page of the forum which is people's first impression of Dragon's Mark.

4. Consider the playable's information as something that would normally be passed by word-of-mouth and any and all characters could know it and may choose to act on it either in the chat rooms or in posts in the forums.

5. If you are looking for interaction for your character and are having trouble finding it don't hesitate to read the Playables and then have your character act on them as something here could be a reason for your character to approach another one and start a conversation.

6. Please remember that the Playables folder is NOT the place to post a storyline. This folder is for one time only posts.

7. Please do not post a new Playable as a reply to a previously posted Playable in the Playables folder. Doing this turns the Playable into an ongoing storyline and the Playables folder is NOT the place for storylines. Instead you need to post your reply (you can include a link to the Playable if you like) in one of the three general folders provided or if you have your own story folder you can post it there as those are the places for ongoing stories to be told.

8. Please remember that the Playables are for stories or events involving RDI. Anything not related or linking to other sites will be removed without notice.

Posts that contribute to ongoing stories in the Playables folder are subject to removal, and then deletion within 10 days, from the Playables folder without notice.

If you are looking for a place to post a storyline and you do not yet have your own folder then there are several general folders to post in:

Dragon Tales:  This one is for any stories.
Mount Yasuo: This one is for stories that take place in the Mount Yasuo area.
The Marketplace: This one is for stories that take place in the Marketplace.
Dockside: This one is for stories that take place in the Dockside area.
Stars End: This one is for stories that take place in Stars End.

If you are wondering what you need to do to get a folder of your own here are the Guidelines for getting your own story folder.
Don't believe that crap that you're as young as you feel. Your feelings lie.
