An intern at the cemetery stood under a translucent pink umbrella a few feet beside the officer. She didn't know what was going through his head but her boss okay'd the visit. Besides she didn't like sitting at the dusty old desk. There were too many weird noises around the office. With how things worked around here, she wasn't about to stick around alone.

Laid out in rows were the caskets that had been recently selected for some of the victims in the wake of the many fires that were plaguing the city. Some were smaller than others.

He'd preferred not to shield himself from the elements at least as far as the rain was concerned. When it rains the saying goes. His eyes traced along the unmarked graves that were being plot out across the ghastly glade with a boom in the business, that might not be so rare around these parts.

"Does this city have any idea how crazy it is?" His words escaped in plumes of cold air.

"Do you mean the nature of these fires?" The intern looked up from her phone and tried to read what his badge said.

"I mean the nature of this city." He clutched the silver cross dangling from the necklace wrapped around his wrist and signed the father, the son and the holy spirit before turning and making his way towards the exit.
