Updating posts to eliminate as many text errors as possible that were caused by the smart quote problems. Please note that some specialty characters were also effected and the closest approximation has been used in most cases.

The world has lost yet another amazing storyteller. :(

While I find comfort that she's no longer battling cancer, I'm saddened for the family she has left behind. The hardest moment after one loses a parent is when you reach for the phone or turn to share something with Mom or Dad and realize you'll never be able to do that again in this lifetime.

I'm going to ring a bell or two for her and a few others that we've lost.

RIP Gem, you were and are missed. You have been a firework lighting up the darkness. While you're on the other side, I hope you meet up with Jack's player and have a grand old time together.

Hello, Yaz! I'd like to hear Just Another New Year's Eve by Barry Manilow.

A bit late for Hanukkah, but a good song none the less, Bohemian Chanukah!

Colleen arrived with the youngest pair of her children. Their contribution was several boxes filled with jars of baby food, infant formula, and diapers. Abby and Madison set off to play with the other children and have some of the delicious food offerings. The pair would likely be picking food off their own plates for the rest of the day or until it was time to go home.

Cheering and carrying on came from both the adults' and children's tables. These were happy sounds and Collie savored them.

The Governor's Office / Letter to the Governor

Dear Pharlen,

In your recent public inquiry you asked about domed buildings. There are some abandoned buildings in the Old Temple District that might fit the bill. They are churches and other buildings no longer used for religious services. Wouldn't take a lot to repair/refurbish them. Not exactly a domed building, but the Observatory and Botanical Garden can be set up for most events.

There are many people in the past that have donated door prizes for the Governor's Yule Ball. I'll be glad to help gather up a list of businesses and items for you. Many wonderful musicians live in and around the city. Perhaps a notice in the papers, etc. inviting them to perform is the ticket?

Toby St. Germain used to do wonderful events for the little ones. If he can't be contacted, perhaps, a page can be taken from his book on creating a children's event.

I may be out of Rhydin for a while over Winterfest. However, I'll be glad to help how I can. We can do lunch or something and brainstorm together. I'll bring the brownies; you bring beverages.

Let's not forget the Day of Thanks toward the end of this month.

Community Events / 500th Birthday Celebration in the RDI!
« on: November 07, 2018, 05:51:03 AM »
Come one, come all! Friday, 9 Nov, about 9pm by the Eastern clock, one of the city's oldest broads, Colleen MacLeod-Fenner, will be taking up a spot behind the bar at the Red Dragon Inn.  She'll be celebrating her 500th birthday by taking a walk down memory lane as she slings drinks and serves up some culinary concoctions and delectable desserts. Desserts include Death by Chocolate ala Colleen and several flavors of her cheesecake. Music to provided by the in-house jukebox and the musically inclined who wish to perform.

Nicole's Bistro and Pizzeria will be catering.

(( Barring complications, this will be a live event in the Blab RDI Chat. Post your characters' outfit, etc.  Can't make it, but your character would be there? Post that up, too! Have fun!))

It wasn't frightening by any means, but she came out as a fairy with wings and all.
