Bristle Crios / A Spark (now open to all)
« on: June 15, 2019, 02:29:42 AM »
Dust stirrs amid the storage boxes, loose parchment rasping to powdery ash. An old brass pendant set with topaz burns away the dross of cobwebbs. Books rattle from their entombed sleep as the ivy veiled window flashed with summer's heat lightning. Wind gathers in the courtyard of the academy; a ground keeper feels a twitch of energy, a hint of white fur at twilight gathered in the corner of his eye. No one is there. Lightning flashes once more and a summer rain hastens him towards home. Underneath a Roan Tree stood a cloked figure, rain dripping from a drawn hood. A single golden eye glinted the night like coins at the bottom of a wishing well.

The hood tilted up to take in the view of the academy. A soft whisper slid out into silvery rain. "I'm home."

Bristle Crios / A&M Study Group at Mage Wing Library
« on: December 07, 2016, 09:18:30 PM »
((Open to all wanting to come together for RP in the spirit of everyone trying to figure out just what in the world Professor D'Arcstorm meant in his lectures.))

Ammy sat in the library sipping on some Chai Spiced Tea in a can, noting the flavor not quite appealing but festive enough without the devastating effect Eggnog had on her senses. She sat at a round table, humming idly, looking over the notes of the last two classes from the A&M 1000 Class. She felt like she had a grasp on somethings but only by a small margin and that grip was slick with grease of doubt and a clutter of information on how she knew things from other realms. She knew Fliss had gotten her message in class and so was staying out in the open study area of the library to see if the young girl would drop by to chat. Ammy had also tacked up the study group note by the auditorium they've been using for class to see if anyone else wanted to chat too.

As she waited, she got a little lost in a small tome about Edible Gemstones.

RhyDin Election / Campaign Exit and Congratulations
« on: October 10, 2016, 03:09:53 PM »
*Across radio stations and news channels a short message from Candidate Ammy Spiritor.*

"Hello to all in Rhy'Din. This is Candidate Ammy Spiritor. I just want to congratulate the victor of the elections, Katt Batten. Well fought and may you do well in your year of Governance. If you ever need anything for the headaches, I sell aspirin cheap. That aside, a personal thanks to all that helped in the campaigns that I championed. Rest assured some projects are not dead, they will just go on in a less media-frenzied capacity. The campaign trail for Candidate Spiritor is now over. Thank you very much and may you all have a safe day."

RhyDin Election / Ammy Spiritor - Tri-Pro Campaign Q&A (Open to All)
« on: September 27, 2016, 05:06:02 PM »
((Cross Posted from the Alchemist's Fires Folder. This thread is open to all that want to ask her questions. Post away and she will answer!))

Ammy stood in front of the central fountain of the Market Place in Rhy'Din City. She faced the camera's of several news stations and the microphones recording for many newspapers across the realms. Cameras flashed taking her picture as she stood there with the sunlight and the fountain's water casting an array of light as her back drop. She wore a simple gray gown, belted with a master alchemist's leather belt with many pouches and vials. Her hair trailed like crimson mixed with gold and silver highlights to her waist like a tribute to wars that brought in the wealth of nations as they oft did.

Ammy focused on all of the reporters with golden eyes that sparked with deep intelligence and intensity like molten gold in a crucible.

"Ladies and Gentlemen of all walks and creeds of life and deaht, thank you for asking me to give a public announcement after hearing of my survival in the preliminary race of Gubernatorial Candidates. I will not gloat, nor be proud. Many candidates were noble and of good intent this year and many of their intentions will not be lost to the din of noise this election." Ammy said firmly.

"That said let me address to you all my platform and intentions for running for Governor of Rhy'Din, you may ask questions later this week or catch the Gubernatorial Debate on Friday the 30th. If you want to see some of my platform, come see the Equality Acts meeting on Wednesday the 28th. Otherwise, feel free to ask at gatherings or public appearances. I simply ask one caveat. For security reasons, family time is personal time so if my body guard or others say no to questions, please, refrain and offer me that small bit of courtesy.

My Platform for Elections is based on being: Pro Equality, Pro Choice and Pro Common Sense.

Pro Equality.
I wish for people to view me as their representative for public equality, that they may know they are heard when prejudice arises into violence and they are not ignored.

Pro Choice.
I wish for people to come to me to know that their dreams, goals, ambitions, projects, tasks and missions are never too small, stupid, odd or impossible. That everyone out there has the right to make choices and to receive aide and the tools and help in making their choices come true be it by aide from foundations like the Sword of Damocles, Charities and many other organizations out there.

Pro Common Sense.
I wish for people to know that I will be a fair, common sense Governor in that I know I have no real powers in the matters of settling affairs that erupt. That they will know that if I am to be drug into personal or city issues that a Governor has no say, I will defer to Common Sense and if either party has failed to use Common Sense, let poetic justice be upon their heads.

My intentions for running as Governor this year if elected by you all, the public, is to show you all, as the public that a Governor can be useful to you all if you simply talk to the Governor and share your concerns. Ask your questions. My job is a public servant.

I listen to you all and I work with you all.

I do not rule you.

I do not tell you what to do.

I simply am there to encourage as many as possible to cooperate with each other every day so you all can make your daily pay, spend your money, enjoy your loved ones, have your fun, enjoy your liberties in any fashion and still have a home standing that is not burnt to the ground.

Governors are those who work late into the night, nudging things along when something has stalled, lending a hand when you've fallen and need to get up, a hand fixing a roof, or a charisma to help a wavering cause.

I simply wish to serve you all.

Let me do this, let me help you, use me, talk to me, ask me things, suggest things and let us work as a community.

I will be asking the candidates that did not make the primary if they will me honor them by taking up their causes as part of my Pro Choice segment of my platform. Thank you all for being here. May you all have the day you were meant to have."
She said to them all in a Karma Blessing and left the Alchemist's Fire Complex.

The Governor's Office / REA - Letter from Ammy Spiritor
« on: September 21, 2016, 11:57:38 PM »
Dear Ebon Ilnaren,

I am writing an extending a formal invitation to you in the hopes that you share a common concern and belief that all races are equal. I am starting a gathering to discuss what would be needed and collect ideas and needs to create the Racial Equality Act for Rhy?Din. It is my goal to see this Act written and offered up to the people of Rhy?Din for consideration and implementation in a similar fashion as the Fair Trade Act by former Governor Al-Amat. This is regardless of my standings in the electoral race and not dependent on if I win or lose. I simply want to see everyone treated equal and not subjected to the fear and violence of racial persecution and hate.

I would like to host this meeting at the Great Hall but I know many are busy with campaigning and personal duties. If we could all gather Friday, the 30th, at around 8pm Rhy'Din Time I would like to ask you all your thoughts on the following questions that came to mind for such an Act to be considered:

1.   Can we use the Welcome Center that processes all new comers as our Racial Database to document all listed races within Rhy?Din currently and news ones arriving daily to keep the Act valid no matter the day, month or year?
2.   Do we classify all inhabitants of Rhy?Din as ?entities? given that many are both living, undead or incorporeal (Phantoms, Ghosts, Spirits, ect.)
3.   Basic rights that an entity should be allowed?
4.   What classifies as sentience in regards to safe guarding various races predated upon by other races as food in natural habitats or home worlds but seen as barbaric in the Nexus realm of Rhy?Din?
5.   What can be done to ensure those that want equality are kept safe when they are threatened or harmed?
6.   What happens when they are hurt?
7.   How is this act implemented or brought to the public without appearing tyrannical or imposed?

These are just some topics I would like to discuss and get your feelings and valued thoughts on. I encourage you to bring your own questions and suggestions as well to help formulate this gift to Racial Freedom. I make no claims that I know all processes or how these formal actions are done. That is why I am reaching out to you to help me come together in a united front to show unity in the face of a reoccurring issue in Rhy?Din City. Will you lend me your support and sponsorship? You may send me a declination if you are not interested or withhold your presence at the meeting. I hold no ill will. If you are interested, please reply back to me with your intent for support and sponsorship and any addition thoughts or questions to add to the discussion for the meeting.

Sincerely,

The Governor's Office / Letter For Gov. Ilnaren From Candidate Spiritor
« on: September 21, 2016, 02:07:37 AM »
September 20th, 2016
Governor Ebon Ilnaren,
Rhy'Din City Governor's Office

Dear Sir;
I hope my letter finds you in fine form this morning Governor Ilnaren. I am writing you from the late night hours of my desk after a series of questions have kept me up quite late. I am sure a few have kept you up often during your two terms. I am writing to ask you a few questions since you are still in office and have the experience with Rhy'Din City governing I do not. Some concerns about racial segregation have been brought to my attention as well as rumors of aggression against non-humans. Some are reporting fear of reporting to the Watch for the possibility of being outright attacked by supporters of the Pro-Human movements. How true these reports are, I cannot validate being third hand information told to me.

I merely mention this situation to preface my request and something of a project or initiative I would love to bring to the people whether elected or not. I would like to have some sounding of reason to my proposal of an Equality Act and Bill of Rights for all living and non-living entities that call Rhy'Din their home. I am not sure what kind of disaster I may be walking into so I am hoping to ask a kindness from you and ask your council and thoughts on this idea. Moreover, if it is something even possible, what would be advisable as someone in my position to even start?

Sincerely Yours:
Ammy Loraine Spiritor,
Candidate for Governor 2016,

RhyDin Election / "I Was Heard!" 2016 Campaign - Ammy Spiritor
« on: September 20, 2016, 01:08:35 PM »
After the Town Hall meeting last night by Governor Ebon Ilnaren, Ammy was now aware time was vastly of the essence to be seen and get to know people more. Putting her head together with her tiny Campaign staff of some family and a few coworkers they capitalized on what Ammy had opened with in the Town Hall meeting. A week long campaign centered on wanting to know what Rhy'Din really wanted in a Governor and want they really wanted done in Rhy'Din.

Flyers were now printed up and sent out to the public putting to use the memeograh machine Ammy had bought to hard work. She'd also put in an order for campaign buttons to honor those that came to speak with hear and ask her questions and give her suggestions for what they'd like to see in a governor for Rhy'Din.

Flyer going out:

Campaign button:

The flyers were distributed and put up with care. Anyone asking was directed to come to the Market Place District every day between 8pm and 10pm Rhy'Din time (Eastern) if they wanted to speak to and ask Candidate Spiritor questions. More importantly the emphasized she was a candidate taking questions and suggestions seriously as her actual platform. She wasn't promising grand plans or half formed ideas of her own to the people that may or may not mesh well with the populace. She wanted to hear from the populace what they all really wanted improved, worked on, seen to and handled by a governor. It was high time the people were given their due voice to be heard!

All visitors were also being told that they would receive buttons to show that they were heard by the candidate and their questions will carry on with Candidate Spiritor through the elections and even if she is not elected she will do her civic duty to try and get them tended to.

RhyDin Election / Candidate sets Festivity and a Foundation into Motion
« on: September 19, 2016, 06:45:13 PM »
Ammy gave Tazzy a small smile a slight pose as a picture was taken of her standing by a glass door that was frosted and stenciled in gold lettering with the words The Sword of Damocles Foundation. The Lupinossai Candidate was seeming to be in fine form, wearing a slim, casual business suit of red and black.

"Thank you for meeting briefly with me, Candidate Spiritor to share new of two hopeful achievements you want to share with the world. At some point I still need to get an interview with you but I am quite booked working with the other candidates. I hope you don't feel slandered." Tazzy asked, a bit nervous around the one woman she'd offended quite soundly the last time she did a political article.

Ammy smiled and softly spoke. "I know you have your hands full Tazzy. By the way, a good job on that report with the Outback Mayhem. You caught some good angles on the fights. You don't need to fret around me too much. I know you're working hard on recovering some of the reputation you lost and we all have to learn from our mistakes."

Tazzy smiled and nodded. "Thank you Candidate Spiritor. You're too kind. Let's get this thing going, my bosses have me on a tight deadline for tonight's broadcast so I'll toss you questions, you answer then I scoot. Deal?"

Ammy smiled. "Deal."

Tazzy flicked on the EYE Com to record and held up her paw and counted down. "5 . . . 4 . . . 3 . . . 2 . . . 1 . . . Hello viewers and welcome to another special broadcast on DCNN! I'm your in field reporter Tazzy Stream-Dancer and today I have the pleasure to speak with Candidate Ammy Spiritor, running for Governor in the coming elections. It's not an interview yet, but she is wanting to share two projects she's spear heading this year. Candidate Spiritor, what are the two projects?"

"Thank you Tazzy and thank you viewers of DCNN and the readers of the Den Howler and all of you out there in Rhy'Din. The two projects I'm working on this year is the Alchemy Lane 'Street Bizarre' and The Sword of Damocles Foundation."

"Tell us a little bit about each project."

"Well the Alchemy Lane 'Street Bizarre' really is something I wanted to get going to help promote festive spirit for the magical and arcane industry in the Market Place District. There are so many businesses that exist that offer magical services or only function thanks to magical services others provide. I wanted to show an appreciation for those of us in the craft that work hard to help others that may go unseen or are often misunderstood and mislabeled as trouble. It's all for fun, charity collections and a show of community.

The Sword of Damocles Foundation has been a long desired dream of mine to contribute back to the community and realm I've come to call home. A way to personally contribute to those I find in need. It's a way to help people with magical talent no matter how they came by it in their times of need financially as well as physically be it by safe house, groceries, housing, education and more. We will even be looking into covering damages done by any in our protection done to property or others by accident or intentional. I went people of all magical talents to know that when they have a need, there is a universal foundation they can come to for help."

"Sounds like the foundation could put a big safety and financial target on your head, Candidate Spiritor. Are you ready for such a risk?"

"Those who rise into positions of leadership, be it leaders, teachers, heads of family, business owners or just someone watching your back, risk is part of the job. You accept it. You watch for it, you don't flee from it. Perhaps if more realize someone out there is willing to accept the risk, willing to help mitigate the damage and the suffering, true understanding may come about and less confusion may happen between the different walks of life. We all bleed. We all cry. We all laugh. We all die. We are all living beings. Let the hate stop and let the search for truth and understanding begin. Only then will rash actions from ill informed opinions begin to diminish."

"Inspiring words Candidate Spiritor. Thank you for your time and sharing your two projects. This is Tazzy Stream-Dancer for DCNN. Stay tuned for more Gubernatorial 2016 broadcasts here on DCNN!"

Ammy smiled and gave Tazzy a thank you and a handshake for the free publicity for her projects and sent the reporter off with a care package of drinks and snacks to keep her full during her reports.

((Thank you Tazzy-Mun for the RP!))

Bristle Crios / Through the Eyes of a Student: Ammy's Sabbatical
« on: February 26, 2016, 08:18:18 PM »
((I am looking forward to Ammy being able to take classes in several subjects from our variety of teachers. These can be Live RP sessions or Post by Post in this thread, whichever is convenient for the teacher. I want to capture what it is like for a teacher to relearn what being a student is all about. She is not looking for special treatment as a teacher sitting in.

To play along, post a text message at Ammy's text SL to state what you teach and if you have an opening for her to come in as a new student. She can take or participate in as many classes as the teacher feels compelled to allow her to be in.))

~*~*~*~*~*~

Ammy felt nervous as she walked through the halls of the Academy. She had penned up a simple letter and a list of blank spaces; the letter and a copy was now held rolled up in her furred hands. Her nervousness bled from the fact that she was used to being a teacher at Bristle Crios. Now she was embarking on a special sabbatical of sorts to regain something she had lost. Her drive to teach had waned and nearly died to ash after the Daemon Kraken hit the Academy. Long struggles to help repair the damage, counseling the grieving families, students and victims. Continued reassure to students and parents alike that her Alchemy classes were legitimate and safe had torn down her self esteem to a ragged ghost of the years past. She was now looking for what had driven her to teach in the first place; the spark students showed to learn and listen to what a valued mentor could share.

But how do I recapture what made me a decent teacher? How do I inspire students to study and enjoy their lessons? What did I lose, being a teacher so much, that could help students? The answers to these questions lay in her plan of action. She went and posted the letters in both the Student Enrollment Office and the Teachers Lounge. The letter would read as the following:

Dear Fellow Teachers of Bristle Crios Academy;

I, Ammy L. Spiritor, fellow teacher and coven member, come before you with a request for simple aid. I feel I have lost my standing and self esteem in educating those wanting to learn. I fear I am overlooking things vitally needed for a teacher to reach out and help their students grasp and learn what is being presented. Many things have happened over the past two years that have left me unsure of my abilities here at this academy.

I come to you all now, not as a fellow teacher, but as a student. I wish to submit myself to a year or so of taking classes from many of you to help me to learn what our students go through, strive for and endure. Please, I ask for any teacher willing to help me on this path to rediscovery so I may continue to be a teacher for generations to come and not a burned out shell of what I was. Bellow is my cell phone contact. Please let me know if any of you have openings for a new student to join in and learn. I am not seeking classes solely in what I know, but rather classes over a wide range of subjects. I am not seeking to be treated as a teacher either.

Yours Truly,
Ammy L. Spiritor,
Master Alchemist, Teacher of Alchemy & Prosthetics

Bristle Crios / New Alchemy - Solara Radium - Path of Sunlight
« on: September 12, 2015, 02:22:35 PM »
The master alchemist had been quiet for a few months. The recovery and repairs to the Academy had gone well and classes were gearing up again. Yet, the alchemist was restless during her months of rest, investigation and family care. Ammy had begun a new path to everything in her life and it was being reflected in a new insight she had had. Having read over almost every alchemy journal, texts and scrolls, the majority of all alchemy was simply the reteaching, refining and relearning of the same old principles, the same results issuing simply more and more refined results equivalent to modern chemistry.

Ammy was beginning to realize that a lot of the mysticism and magic of alchemy was starting to fade and become quite mundane. With this realization she decided to set out to do something noteworthy to leave as a legacy to future students of the academy. She embarked on an endeavor to create a new form of Alchemy departing from all traditional and mythical methods.

So, with a new purpose in life that was peaceful and hopefully a contribution to the arts of magic, Ammy began to study anew to learn how to create the Solara Radium, roughly translated to Radiant Sun Alchemy. From this point on, any seeing Ammy would notice the professor had indeed changed dramatically. She was now a hybrid of Cheetah and Lioness, long gone was the Lupinossai appearance for now. Her magic was all but locked away, slowly being regained as she proved herself worthy of being an adult and a master of magic.

Hence forth, Ammy began to make ledger entries to keep track of what she had learned and the new breakthroughs into making this new form of alchemy come alive.

Bristle Crios / Oops - Through the Looking Glass
« on: April 07, 2015, 02:09:09 PM »
Three days had past for the Lupinossai Alchemist. Her leg healed and restored as she predicted. Ammy felt much better from the rest, but she was out of the loop of what may have gone on during her rest. She stood, dressed in a spare set of black pants, maroon blouse and leather vest. She was about to see to breaking her fast in the Alchemy House kitchen and maybe score some of Jack's legendary coffee when her eyes settled on mahogany chest upon her desk.

She walked to the chest, the one place she stored her correspondence with all the teachers and faculty, opened the lid. Lying atop the pile was a very unique letter. One of the few she'd every responded to, Atticus D'Arcstorm. She looked retrieved the letter and went in search of food. She sat down an hour later with food, coffee and her letter from Atticus written a year ago. As she ate, she read the components that Atticus had listed for his proposal to make a large arcane artifact using the entirety of the Bristle Crios coven. She remembered writing him about caution in making this device and asking who would control it and be responsible when the inevitable hit the proverbial fan.

Her eyes paused upon 'The Looking Glass' mentioned in his letter. It was a device to study alternate or parallel realities. She laid the letter down, ate more of her meal in quiet thought. This couldn't be related. She was fairly certain that such a device was never requested to be installed anywhere near her classes. She was pretty sure she'd remember those release forms. However, she had a cabinet with a mirror in it. A cabinet she bought herself when first starting to teach. Sturdy, cheap and reliable but completely ordinary. So why then was she getting the mother of all shivers down her spine?

She ate more eggs and her mind pulled a piece of the puzzle to the forefront. A simple cabinet, yet a broken mirror is missing. Now why would the mirror and any traces of it be missing? She finished her meal, folded up the letter and left Alchemy House. It was time she paid a personal visit to Lord D'Arcstorm. Perhaps he could help her with this bizarre issue.

Bristle Crios / Oops - Open to All SL

((other staff or students are encouraged to post and join in.))
((Setting Music Dragon Empress - BrunuhVille))

Have you ever had one of those days that no matter what you do, no matter how well you explain something repeatedly, the universe decides to be a bully and up end your chocolate milk into sand and laugh at you?

Tinkle, Crack, Crash! The sound of a master mages barrier echoed across the emptied hall way, solid, glowing chunks of protective energy shattered onto the floor. A hulking mass of tentacles, scaled and oozing acid dripping slime slithered out of the double doors of an alchemy lecture room. A young elf girl, garbed in a warm cloak and robe screamed in terror seeing the tentacles. The rest of the small group of students looked in the direction of the panic and a gnome snagged at the hem of their teachers vest.

?Pro? pro.. professor! It broke past your barrier!?

This was one of those days...

Ammy, holding up her hands, pink bejeweled collar aglow from gems radiating power she was tapping looked away from another door way ahead of them in the hall. Her eyes settled on the loose tentacles flowing from the main lecture room entry. She sighed and looked ahead of her. The side door of the lecture room lay cracked in half against the wall of the hallway and a mass of tentacles coiled up against an invisible barrier within the doorway. It was flaring bright blue from the arcane energies deflecting the tentacles.

?Class. Move to the end of the hall in an orderly fashion. Treat this as a fire drill and stay put until further aid from other professors arrive.? She said in a tone of command.

The students didn?t think twice to ask why and moved past her, hurriedly but in order. They had trust in their professor to protect them. One of the vampire lads smacked the back of the head of a dwarf.

?Told you that mixing a summon potion with kraken ink was stupid.? the vampire said.

The dwarf lad flinched and flailed at the vampire. ?I wanted to summon ink!?

The vampire rolled his eyes. ?You ask for ink lout, not summon it. This isn?t arcane class, it was alchemy!?

Ammy put the sounds of the argument out of her head. Left hand up and maintaining the side door barrier she regarded the coils of tentacles rapidly approaching her from the main entry. Leave it to her students to be cunning and ambitious in class while she wrote on the chalkboard. Many of them were exploring combining potions within warded cauldrons. She never dreamed a student would smuggle in a summoning potion. Something wet and a bit acidic grabbed her ankle and took her back to the present issue. Right. Tentacles.

Right hand lifted and her finger tips glowed white hot. ~Fuego!~ The word was snarled and five fire balls streaked from her finger tips to impact upon the tentacles. They fizzled and guttered out. She stared in surprise. The dwarf student spoke up.

?Kraken Daemons resist fire professor!?

Kraken Daemon! Before she could even ask what the student was doing to even possess a potion to summon anything much less something from the Daemon realm, she felt world slide out from her hard as the tentacle around her ankle tugged her down. She hit the floor hard with a ?wuff? of air escaping. The side door shield wavered a moment during her brief distraction. She felt it and poured intent back into it, keeping her left hand up again. She signed several sigils in a span of five seconds as she was drug up the carpeted floor towards the mass of tentacles writhing, waiting for its prey.

~Ortham!~ Wind sliced out from the sigils as she smashed them her right fist. The gale severed the attached tendril and slammed into the writhing mass at the door way. They flailed in rage and withdrew for a moment.

?Granite Mortis Chiseler, we are having a teacher/student discussion if we get out of this alive.? Her tone was not pleasant and promised severe tongue lashing. The dwarf did his best to hide in the clustered group of students.

Bristle Crios / Achieving the Impossible
« on: April 21, 2014, 03:40:20 PM »
The candle light flickered around the quiet room as it chased shadows into deeper corners. Tapestries of famous alchemists woven into satin hung upon every wall that had space. The plush bed with an orange crocheted comforter stood silent vigil near the only glass window tinted gray from the long use of candles near it. Amid the pool of candlelight columns of tomes, some massive others only a scant few pages, hugged the shores of that yellow light. The cherry wood desktop showed white scars of heavy use like a grizzled veteran of war. The rustle of pages flipped accompanied the tick tack of a pencil hitting the desk in a constant rhythm.

A gray furred hand lifted a single page festooned with measurements, array alignments and a menagerie of arcane knowledge lost to many.
