For those of you who are unaware, Polyvore (the site where many of us put together outfits for events, day to day, funzies) has been bought out and replaced. For those who want their sets/items/content, PV sent an email with a link where you can request a download of your content--whatever that means.

Use here to request content. Also. OPT OUT of them selling your email!!

I have been keeping an eye out for replacements.

TrendMe seems very similar! You can add items, looks, etc. It doesn't have as much artsy content (from what I've heard, don't know what that means), but looks to be pretty solid. It gives a BBC code for forums, but DM's forums doesn't seem to like it. It gives a link to the "picture", though, so you can at least upload that to imgur or whatever.

Another one recommended to me was Finery, which somehow uses clothes from your own wardrobe? I'm guessing it somehow syncs with online purchases? I don't know, I haven't checked it out, but I have heard good things.

If anyone else has found any similar sites, feel free to toss 'em down!

shoplook.io is trying to replace Polyvore's functionality on their site. They have a message specifically for Polyvore users that lays out what they want to bring to the table. It might be worth joining and seeing what they can do. I haven't had a chance to play with it yet, mostly because I'm still mourning lol.

Clunky and a little limited... but with a lot of promise. And the sets have transparent backgrounds automatically, which is cool.

Thanks for trying it out! I like that they have a message to poly users.

I really like the look of shoplook! Hopefully they get an item add feature soon, since their database is pretty slim. I also found it a little awkward trying to find certain items. But very promising.

As an interesting side note---I happened to be reading a business article today about another long-time website that was recently sold and announced its imminent shutdown, StyleMePretty. Apparently both Polyvore and StyleMePretty were owned by Oath, Inc. a digital media company. You know what else it owned? Oath owned AIM.

And you know what else it still owns? Tumblr.

Tumblr is probably safe. It gets a ton of usage.

Polyvore got a ton of usage, too, though. Nothing seems safe these days. Sad

Oath is owned by Verizon. They own AOL and Yahoo. I got their notice today on my Yahoo e-mail account about changing privacy policies. I suggest being wary of Flickr for future photo sharing as it's a subsidiary of Yahoo.

I checked out the shoplook.io

its not too bad. Limited. But not bad. missing some things I got used to on poly. (I posted on the thread in the fb poly thread)

I had some issues trying to sigh up and in, and they were very helpful.

The format is different. And its lacking the artsy feel of Polyvore, as well as some of the other things like the ability to upload images, but the site does state they are working on getting there.

It different. Nothing will be just like Polyvore. And looking at the statements above. Ill be watching my tumblr and flickr as well. (Though tumblr does get a lot of usage )

has anyone else tried any of the other sites? or played more witht he shoplook.io ? ( I roamed around, made a draft set. )

Has anyone tried https://www.trendme.net/ yet? It looks like it might be similar to PV, but I'm not sure. I haven't had a chance to test it out myself yet. Just curious.

Yes, I've used it to create a couple of sets. I don't like that the canvas space is a little small, but the upload tool works fairly well, but it's a little odd.

Yeah, it looks like Oath/Yahoo are conducting a fire sale. I got an email today that Flickr is under new ownership.
