Dragon's Mark Guidelines
Dealing with Site Infractions
These are general guidelines so everyone has an idea of the steps that may be taken when any chat or forum guideline isn't followed. It is important to remember that the Adminstrators will be reviewing each incident on a case by case basis and together will decide what, if any, action is deemed appropriate.
There are three basic levels of actions: Mild, Moderate, and Severe.
- Mild infractions would be, but are not limited to: using OOC in a RP chat room or posting inflammatory or questionable content in the forums, or using masked vulgarity (circumventing the profanity filters).
- Moderate examples would be, but are not limited to: repeated mild incidents after receiving an initial reminder from a Host or Administrator, initial violation of our Harassment policy, and reposting of material removed from forums.
- Severe examples would be, but are not limited to: soliciting for illegal activities in chat or message forums, attempting to use multiple usernames to circumvent any Dragons Mark policies or guidelines.
Any action or actions taken for incidents is a private matter between that member and the Host or Administration of Dragon's Mark. However, we have set up a few general guides for dealing with incidents so everyone has a general idea of some of the tools that are used.
- Mild incidents are generally dealt with via IMs, alerts, and/or private messages from a Host or Administrator to the user.
- Moderate incidents may include a temporary suspension from the site, typically a minimum of 72 hours. Four moderate incidents in any 90 day period (3 months) may include an extended suspension of the username.
- Severe incidents, or six moderate incidents in any 180 day period (6 months) may result in any of the previous actions on up to banning of the "player" from the site for a minimum of six months, at which time the player may petition for reinstatement of their account.
While we realize many players have multiple characters under multiple usernames, not all breaches of conduct will be applied to the "player" versus the "username". However, if there are incidents by multiple usernames controlled by the same player, we may, at our discretion, include any and all known usernames controlled by that player. Banning may involve the blocking of usernames, email addresses and/or ip addresses
